Terms of Service

This English version is the reference text. Translations are provided for convenience; if they differ, the English version prevails, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
1. Who we are
Internet Monarchy is an online game run by Pablo Gómez, an individual based in Argentina (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@internetmonarchy.com. By claiming the throne you accept these terms, the throne rules and our privacy policy.
2. What you are buying
You are buying a turn on the throne in a game. When your payment is confirmed you are crowned: your name, message, flag and, if links are enabled, your link are shown on the throne, and your reign is recorded in the public royal archives.
- Your reign lasts until the next payment is confirmed. That could be days or a few minutes. We do not promise any minimum time on the throne.
- The throne is entertainment, not an advertising service. We do not sell views, clicks, traffic or exposure, and we make no promise about how many people will see your reign.
- A reign is not an investment, has no cash value, is not a prize and cannot be resold or transferred. There is no element of chance: whoever pays the published price is crowned.
- The service is fully performed when you are crowned. Being dethroned afterwards is how the game works, not a failure of the service.
3. Who can play
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a contract. You must have the right to publish everything you submit, and you may not claim the throne in someone else’s name without their permission.
4. Price
The first throne costs US$10. After that, the price is the highest amount ever paid (refunded or charged-back payments do not count) plus 10%, at least US$1 more, rounded up to the next whole dollar. Prices are in US dollars. The price shown before you pay is the total for the throne. For card payments the price already includes any sales tax or VAT, which Creem calculates for your location. For crypto payments, network fees and exchange costs are yours.
5. Quotes and simultaneous payments
When you start a checkout we quote you a price and hold it for 30 minutes. If you start paying within that time, your quote is honoured even if someone else is crowned in the meantime. When several payments are confirmed, every buyer is crowned in the order their payments are confirmed, and the next price is based on the highest amount paid. This can make your reign very short. Nobody is refunded because of this.
A payment that starts after the quote has expired, or that is lower than the quoted price, is not crowned automatically. We review it and either crown you or refund you (crypto refunds are sent in crypto, minus network fees).
6. How you pay
Card
Card payments are sold and processed by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia) as merchant of record: Creem is the seller of the transaction, charges your card, handles sales taxes and sends your receipt, and its buyer terms apply to the payment. Pablo Gómez provides the game itself.
Crypto
Crypto payments are processed by NOWPayments, but you buy directly from Pablo Gómez. You are crowned only when NOWPayments reports the payment as finished, which can take some time. Crypto transfers cannot be reversed: send exactly the amount and currency shown, on the network shown. Payments that arrive incomplete are reviewed by hand. Crypto may not be offered in some countries, including those where NOWPayments does not serve customers.
7. Refunds
Your reign starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, so purchases are final. In particular, there is no refund when:
- someone outbids you, however soon after your reign begins;
- another payment is confirmed before or after yours (see section 5);
- your message or link is hidden for breaking the rules or the law.
We refund you if we fail to crown you after a valid payment because of our mistake. Creem may also refund a card payment within 60 days, at its own discretion, to prevent disputes, even under this policy. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
If a payment is refunded, withdrawn or charged back, for any reason, its reign is revoked: it disappears from the royal archives, the previous monarch returns to the throne and the price is recalculated without that payment.
If you think a charge is wrong, please write to us before disputing it with your bank; it is usually faster. We may refuse future claims from anyone who files disputes in bad faith.
8. Right of withdrawal
Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Before paying, you confirm that you want your reign to start immediately and that you lose your right of withdrawal once you are crowned. You receive a confirmation of your purchase by email.
Consumers in Argentina may revoke their purchase within 10 calendar days of the crowning, at no cost and without giving a reason (article 34 of Law 24,240 and article 1110 of the Civil and Commercial Code). Use the withdrawal option on our contact page; we confirm receipt with a withdrawal code within 24 hours. Any other withdrawal right that your local law makes mandatory is also respected. A withdrawal revokes the reign as described in section 7.
9. Your content
You are responsible for the name, message, flag and link you submit, which must follow the throne rules and the law. You keep the rights you have in your content and give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, reproduce and share it on Internet Monarchy, in the royal archives, in share images and in posts about the game, for as long as the archives exist. You can ask us to anonymise your reign at any time.
10. Moderation
Text is checked automatically before payment and can be rejected. After the crowning anyone can report a reign, and a person reviews every report. If content breaks the rules or the law, we may hide the message, the link or both. The monarch keeps the throne and their place in the archives, and there is no refund. We tell the monarch by email why their content was hidden, and they can reply to contest the decision. We may refuse future claims from people who seriously or repeatedly break the rules, and we may report clearly illegal content to the authorities.
11. Links
Links are optional, are checked against safety lists before payment and are shown with rel=“nofollow sponsored ugc”, so they pass no search ranking. We do not control or endorse linked sites. We may remove a link at any time if its destination becomes unsafe or breaks the rules, or switch the link field off for everyone; there is no refund when a link is removed.
12. Emails
We use your email to write to you about your purchase and, if someone takes your throne, to tell you so and what it costs to take it back. Every such notice has an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by writing to us. Messages about your payment are sent even if you unsubscribe.
13. Changes and the end of the game
We may change the game, these terms or the price rules for future purchases; the terms you accepted apply to your purchase. If we decide to close the game, we will announce it on the site at least 30 days in advance, and we may keep the royal archives online as a read-only record.
14. Liability
The game is provided as it is. We try to keep it online but cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to Internet Monarchy is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for intent, gross negligence or under mandatory consumer protection rules.
15. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence. Card payments are also subject to Creem’s buyer terms.
